Boomer censorship

I just popped back over to that boomer site that linked here and I found something very interesting.

Last night I left a fairly long comment about boomers. I did not call them names. I did not swear at them or insult their mothers. This morning I went back to see what sort of replies it might have received and I found out that the comment had been deleted.

Now, it is their blog they can do with it as they see fit.

However, I think it speaks volumes about a person who cannot allow their views to be challenged. Especially if it is not in your face name calling. I will point out that all the posts that the boomers left over here yesterday are still here. (Even the one wishing my mother dead.)

There is of course nothing stopping you from heading over there and asking why it was deleted. (The link is in a previous post.)

I have an early draft of the comment that I left. I do have the final one as well, but I am traveling and don't have access to it right now. So for right now here is the draft version. I'll post final one sometime tonight or tomorrow.

Posted in the heart of boomer country:
--------------------------------------------------------------
There are a growing number of us out there that have listened to you talk about how great you are for so long that we thought we would start checking into it.

Things we learned along the way:

The fastest growing segment of the prison population is baby boomers.

Per capita the largest segment of the population to declare bankruptcy are boomers.

Boomers give less money to charity as a percentage of their assets than either the generation before or after them. They donate less of their time as well.

They have not saved enough for retirement and as a result will be working well into their, "golden years".

As far as social security goes. I really hope you are not going to rely on it. You should have taken better care of the governmental finances while you were in charge. It seems that the country is on the verge of bankruptcy. At least you will live long enough to see it happen.

Ironically, I have great respect for previous generations. They did some amazing things. Fought two world wars. Explored and settled a continent. Fought a revolution and founded a country based on the principals of liberty. They based their lives on the ideas of thrift and investment. Frugality was not a dirty word but an ideal that was exemplified. Debt was abhorrent to all the generations before yours.

Every generation left the country better than they found it. Each generation lowered the national debt and increased the standard of living. Each generation advanced freedoms beyond what had existed prior to it.

Unfortunately you are the first generation in U.S. history to leave the country worse than you found it.

Now, you can have a knee jerk reaction and tell me to piss off. But, go research it for yourselves. Go to the library. Read some books. It's all out there.

Your legacy will be written by the generations that come after you. It will be written by those that take the time and have the desire to write it. That would be people like me.

The question isn't why do I seem angry to you. The question should be, "why aren't you angry at yourselves?"

--------------------------------
That was the start. I guess they had that knee jerk reaction because they deleted it.

What I would say to that is: Cowards.

I think she did you a favor taking your post down. When I read a post like that regardless of what it is about, If I see no facts or figures or links to back up accusations, I wonder how the writer expects to have any credibility.
Also, let's face it, your stats have taken a nice spike over this so enjoy it while you can but any blog that relies on mudslinging, negativity, unsubstantiated claims and attacks a whole generation with stereotype comments is probably not going to be taken too seriously.
But as an American(I presume) it is your right to make a fool of yourself in front of the world as long as you don't start clamoring for boomer scalps.
Have fun, and you are welcome to post any comments you like on my blog-just be sure they are on topic and contain no profanity.

The links are all here. Take some time look around. Every claim here is backed up with links.

I'm willing to bet you didn't even look around.

Come back, don't come back. I really don't care. I do this for myself. It's fun. I get to vent about stories I've seen on the news. Rip them apart. Turn them on their head and shake them to see what falls out of their pockets.

It speaks more of you than me when you talk about the amount of traffic generated. That would mean you blog for the traffic.

As for stereotypes: They are in the mainstream media. I just post them here and point them out.

Just take a little time and take a look to see what they are saying about you. You won't be happy.

I don't have any problems finding news stories that paint the boomers in a negative light. In fact there are more of them than I can keep up with. There are more of them than positive ones. Just use google news and see for yourself.

Sorry- the rest of the world does not worship your sorry, divorced, viagra-popping asses. you haven't seen mudslinging yet. all I've seen on Worst Generation is fact after fact after fact - with good humor and reason. All I see with savvyboomer is the same greedy boring bull. "Have a swell day?" Go screw yourself you swell-headed jerk off.

So, baby boomers are a bunch of ass holes. Yeah? So what? What's the problem? So BB's are the worst generation yet. Emphasis on YET. I mean , wtf, who cares? Big deal? Ain't gonna change anything or make it better or different. BB's didn't save for retirement, file bankruptcy, go to prison more, do drugs, wrecked up their lives.....so what? They reap what they sow.
Now, the next generation has a change. Do a better job guys. Plain and simple. Hey USA got out of the 1929 crash, the depression, WWI & II, JFK, MLK & RFK assassinations, Viet Nam war yada, yada yada, you'll get out of the current mess and move on.
You dislike the BB's, wanna blame them, go right ahead. But you should move on. An election is coming up. Let's do better than 'them'!!! OK?????

Immediately?

I posted it around 9pm. The next morning I logged on and there were plenty timestamped after it. But, OK, if you say Immediately I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

just a brief response to anonymous from another anonymous.

Appreciate the spirit, (move on, do a better job).

But ...

You cannot solve the world's problems - or even make progress without understanding the cause of the problem.

Second, there is not enough social commentary on the problems caused by the baby boomers. They dominate the culture with their trivia and their navel gazing. We need commentary like this to keep the issue of generation accountability alive.

The fundamental problem is not the BB itself - it is just a symptom of deeper philosophical maladies - ie - selfishness, short term thinking, idol worship, lack of respect for elders, lack of care for children, and lack of values such as decency.

Otherwise, fight the good fight. Move on - means "shut up". I don't want to shut up. That's what the BB wants us to do.

If we "shut up" the BB will fill the vacuum with their egos and their selfish ways until they die.

Move on? No way.

savvyboomer will find out how savvy he or she is when there kids refuse to pay 40-60% of there income to social security..

I guess the worst generation person doesn't watch the news, price of gas or the general fact that they owe(I am not paying there debt, there debt will be paid when they don't have SS benefits) over 9 trillion dollars.
There a disgusting self centered generation. Everything they touch they destroy. Before there generation America had a top notch education system..now look at it. Before there generation the only time there was debt was during a world war. Now it is common place. Before them health care was cheap, now it is expensive. Before them if you worked hard you could get a good job, settle down raise a family. Because of there actions and inactions millions upon millions of jobs were shipped over sea's, divorce is as common as fast food. And pill's,coccaine, heroin are a plague on our society.
I have to complement the writer for being restrained.
Personally very few baby boomers deserve the right to vote, run for office, or open there mouth.

I just have to agree. The Baby Boomer Generation, and let's get this straight ~ is from 1939 to 1953 ~ has ruined nearly everything on the planet. The world economy is in shambles, the American school system is on the brink of collapse, and the unemployment rate is somewhere near to 15% in the country. The greediness, cynical, "me" only generation has just about thrown the country so far behind that I will be damned if I will want to support this generation in their old age; which is nearly here by the way.

Look around: you have aging baby boomers filling jobs that young people should have, all the while, these vampires continue to suck the life-blood out of the country and its economic future.

There's going to be hell to pay for this "me" only generation that has been in denial about aging for so long that they actually believe all their drugs and pills will make them "younger" so that they can live to the point where they can say "80 is the new 30."

What a bunch of losers this ENTIRE generation of Baby Boomers are. They should be ashamed of themselves.
