You were on top of the world while you ran RBS (The Royal Bank of Scotland).
But running a bank founded in 1727 wasn't good enough for you.
You merged, you expanded, you never met a credit product you did not like.
Now, your bank is being nationalized.
Others before you guided the institution through depressions, panics and world wars. To be a modern Yank I can say, "It was A real Energizer bunny rabbit of a bank."
To kill it took a baby boomer.

My freinds and I (mostly aged betwen 25 and 35) discuss the topic of your blog on a daily basis - have done for years. We are very upset for a few reasons;
1) Old pricks sit on their conservative fat arses in company positions that should belong to us ... they take the good ideas we come up with and publicly humiliate us when something we do fails
2) We rent their houses ! They have jacked the prices up so much in the low end of the market that we cannot afford the one thing we were told indicated our success. This is most unfair.
3) We are outnumbered! We will not see someone from our generation n a position of power for at least another 15 - 20 years - that sucks
There are countelss other reasons I hate that generation - the enviornmental catastrophy alone makes me shake with rage - but what can be done.
If someone proposed a general strike accross the globe in protest of the shit house society and planet the Gen x and y's are inhereting I would support them whole heartedly - how does one organise something like this? What if we had a "Anti baby boomer" day of action every 2nd Froday of the month until someone took some notice and started fixing the bullshit that has been going on? What are our demands? What would it achieve - I dunno - Im just angry!
Thanks for the venting space - keep it up. I will be back.
